Front End Web Developer

April 8, 2010

Sparkart isn't a design firm. It's like one in some ways, but we're deeply interested in technology and business on top of the pretty pictures. In fact, we also develop software. Visit any of our sites and you'll be using the most advanced content, community, and commerce-driven site development platform in the world, built over the years to empower the biggest names in music and entertainment on the web. Think Drupal, Ning, WordPress, ExpressionEngine, Magento, etc. all rolled into one powerful RoR platform with Apple-like attention to detail and design. We have over 1.5 million registered users and millions more visit our sites every month, check out any of these sites to get an idea:

We're working hard this year to turn our platform into a hosted service product and we need help. We're looking for great front end developers to accomplish this mission, working with a very talented team of software engineers and interaction designers in Oakland and Montreal who have made everything we've done so far possible. You will hit the ground running:

  • Defining new features on your own initiative and in reaction to business requirements, writing specifications, building HTML/CSS/Javascript prototypes, and working closely with engineers through launch
  • Helping to refactor our front end codebase to scale better as we add features
  • Partnering with our User Experience team to constantly improve our production process, defining rapid development methodologies such as patterns and templates

Sparkart has been in business since 1999 with the resources to execute and the agility of a bedroom business. Join us and we'll create something very special together.
